Methow Recycles comes to Leavenworth. The First of Four Classes to help us learn how we can make a difference in this world! Presenter: Miles Milliken from Methow Recycles @ the Red Barn Most of us recycle, but there is much we do not know about what happens with it when the truck takes it away. Did we put the right items in our bin? Were our items clean enough? Non-profit Methow Recycles was envisioned by a group of individuals who imagined a community with easier and more comprehensive access to recycling. Miles, operations manager, will talk about the “hidden” realities of recycling and how to improve that process from home, all of us becoming more responsible with our waste! The first of a series, there will be more about sustainability, reducing waste in our day to day lives, plastic pollution and making our own shampoo, selected Mondays until July!

The Grunewald Guild songwriting workshop is the coming together of generous and supportive instructors and students, in support of the creative journey we are on collectively and individually. This weekend workshop will culminate with a Sunday-morning coffee house performance of songs created in the class. This workshop is designed for more highly skilled students, ones who already know the basics of songwriting. We will discuss the importance of learning to cover the songs of others as a way to improve our understanding of songs, exploring construction, chords, and rhythms as weskill, and develop our own creative voices.
